Awoke to a calmer day today, feeling a bit sore and tired from the big day out yesterday, so it didn’t take too long to decide today would be a rest day as we hadn’t really wound down since the excitement of Sue winning.

After Tez’s first attempt at making the lemon shooters (larger & hotter than Sue's) and another healthy breakfast, a study of the Mackerel Island’s brochure trying to find what sort of turtles we were looking at yesterday was the go.
Bugsy went in search of the golf course and found it just at the back of our cabin. Sue decided to check on the bag of goggles, snorkels and flippers lent to us by her brother, and gave a demo on how to walk with flippers on.

After a very creative lunch of all things shared, Mags curled up with a good book. Tez took a nap after her late night of trying to get a signal took its toll. Sue and Bugsy headed down to the jetty, where Sue practised her new found knowledge of snorkelling and old skill of planking whilst Bugsy kept a watchful eye out for anything dastardly lurking in the water.
They returned assuring us that there will be no sharks when we ALL have a go tomorrow.
Late in the day Drew came up to have a few beers and reminisce the good ol days of B & S’s. He shared his knowledge on Thevenard Island's flora, birds and ocean dwellers. He hadn't really heard the one about the Thevenard Houth Mouth. A few good laughs and it was back to work for him as we prepared to go fishing off the jetty for squid. They returned assuring us that there will be no sharks when we ALL have a go tomorrow.

With a couple of Mag’s glow sticks, a bottle of white (which turned out to be red) off we went in search of squid rings for dinner, getting a few strange looks from the other cabins as we wandered past. I would say it is not very often that they get to see 3 women heading along the shore with blue and orange lights swinging around their necks.
NO sharks they said, and you can guess what the first thing we saw was on arrival to the jetty.
We met up with a couple of the Chevron guys and a 4ft shark that came for a quick look at what he can have for lunch tomorrow.

With no squid around it was back to the cabin for a smorgasboard of fish, rice and a very tasty tangy dipping sauce.
Paul was showing on Tez's laptop tonight so we all sat on the sofa bed and had a good laugh although some of us nearly died laughing, choking and trying not to inhale, when one of us “popped a balloon” (guess who) and a foul smell filled the air which no amount of fanning away could help. Even the moths were dropping dead.
