Thursday 8th September - Bites, bocci & a puzzle oh my

Day 6

Up early, Tez headed off to conquer the sea wall  (which kind of reminded her of a tetris game) to go and see the turtles. Not getting quite as far as Sue, Mags & Bugsy did yesterday, she did see a couple of them popping their heads up out of the water. They stay under for about 30mins so Tez decided to head home for breakfast. That damn wall from the other side looked even worse, so seeing an opportunity of a shortcut, grazing her knee on the way it wasn’t long before she got sprung by a Chevron person saying “next time, please go the long way around” to which she promptly replied “there certainly won’t be a next time, it's a bit too dangerous”
The sea wall aka Lego land
Mag’s has started breaking out in spots and it seems to be contagious, Bugsy & Sue also have a few. They look like sandfly bites and all the old remedies are being trialled. Lemon juice, peroxide and even hand sanitiser to try and take the itch out.
We called today hump day, it was as if we had finally all started to relax. We just enjoyed staying at home watching a movie or reading a book.

In the afternoon the Thevernard Bocci Championships were held against Sue & Bugsy.  Albert (the umpire) decided to move to higher ground when struck out by a stray Bugsy bowl, surely he wouldn't have tried to hit him on purpose..

Good form
Poor Albert
Late in the day, Drew came over to share a beer and let us know he would take us over to the other side of the island tomorrow night for some sunset snorkelling – but what about the SHARKS?

Sue & Tez headed off to the shop for more poo tickets (Tracey knew what they were) and garbage bags, deciding on the way to check out where the air strip is, then once the supplies were collected, totally forgot about it. It’s hard work walking around the island, it’s all sand.... who’d have guessed.

Sandy paths everywhere
An early evening game of celebrity head had the neighbours wondering what was going on. The island seems to be more for fishermen with a sole mission to catch the big one, so I don't think they were impressed with a couple of women and 1 hairy critter from the wheatbelt having a fun and relaxing time.
Fresh eggs from Mag's mum made a beaut yellow quiche
Dinner time - Sue & Mags got to work on the quiche and cabbage while Tez whipped up a lemon cheesecake. After another fine dining experience, Mag’s mum's jigsaw puzzle was brought out and the cussing began, how on earth are we ever going to finish this before we leave.
And now the fun begins ...
Albert got in on the action and managed to hide the last edge piece under Sue’s chair, where she had already looked. No doubt Sue will make him pay for doing that.
